We are approaching the end of the year 2012. One or two people are talking about mankind being on the threshold of a new age. If you believe in Maya prophecies and Nostradamus or not – at least in terms of intelligent Progressive Trance this theory turns out to be true. Lior Edery, well known as one half of Ananda Shake, starts a new solo project named New Age.

Listening to the debut EP of this new project the name Swinger makes perfect sense: The sound keeps swinging between intricate psychedelics and deep hypnotism on the one side and the light and fluffy vibe of Progressive Trance on the other. A consistent hybrid construct between bouncy offbeat rhythms, weightless sound sculptures and woozy hook lines.

The title One World is the probably lightest one on this EP with a cheerful atmosphere somewhere between a sunny afternoon on an open air dance floor and the early morning hours of a night in the club. Strom lives up to its name, a vehement beat leaving no misunderstandings that there is only one direction: Forward. Still the atmosphere never gets really hard, thanks to a shiny and bright chord sound. The title track Swinger is the most modern one on this EP, employing playful Nu School sounds and shuffled rhythms among complex layers of melody.
